Post-Marathon Recovery in Boston

Last week, I ran the Milwaukee Marathon. This week has been pretty quiet on the workout front because I am spending my post-marathon recovery in Boston!  Very few workouts to report.  Linking up with hosts Deborah and Kim for today’s Sunday Rundown.

This post will be pretty brief!  I am currently in Boston hanging with my best friend, Elyse, anticipating tomorrow’s Boston Marathon like a kid waiting for Christmas morning.  We’ve had two full days of sunshine, good conversation and delicious food (Boston has some FAB vegan restaurants!). I also enjoyed some 26.2 beer from Sam Adams, brewed specifically for the Boston Marathon!

Since the Milwaukee Marathon was last Saturday (race recap here), this week was focused on post-marathon recovery.  I had quite a few total rest days, and started strength classes again.  I’ve done a few short 30 minute runs, and went out for 60 minutes along the Charles River today.  I’m keeping it pretty relaxed until I get back to Chicago next week.

Who else will be watching the Boston Marathon tomorrow? I cannot wait!  Let’s stay in touch!  Follow me on Instagram or Facebook for more food/fitness related posts.

Happy running,

Becca

How fun! One of these years I wanna make it back to Boston to spectate. It looks gorgeous there. Trust me you’ve missed nothing here in Chicago except loads of snow. Enjoy the race! Of course I’ll be watching!

I wish I could watch the marathon tomorrow, but I’ll be at work (womp womp). I bet it’s crazy fun in the city right now!

I am excited to watch the marathon tomorrow. So cool that you are there to watch it. I would like to try that beer too. The name is pretty catchy! 🙂

I was going to say that it is so weird that Boston has had sunshine these past couple of days and it is supposed to rain tomorrow. But then remembered that we had nice weather yesterday and snow today.
